BlackBerry Q10 – Release Date in the States is Getting Closer

Most gadget enthusiasts are anxiously waiting for the release date of some top-notch smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 (where not yet available) or the iPhone 5S. However, there are some who are not that much into full-touch devices and are looking forward to purchasing a handset with a physical QWERTY-keyboard, such as the BlackBerry Q10.
We’ve recently found out that the release date of the BlackBerry Q10 in UK is just around the corner and that several Canadian carriers are getting ready to launch this QWERTY-ed gadget as well, but when will the BlackBerry Q10 hit the US store shelves, you ask? BlackBerry Q10 – US Release Date and Price Tag

No more rumors and speculations this time around, as BlackBerry has officially announced that its most anticipated handset, the BlackBerry Q10, will be released in the United States by the end of May, thus confirming previous reports.
Want to know exactly how much will the Q10 set you back? According to the Ontario-based company, the smartphone will cost $249.99 after a two-year contract – a pretty steep price tag considering that most of the high-end devices, such as the iPhone 5 or HTC One, are priced at $199.99.

Even though at first this may seem like a strange move from BlackBerry’s part, according to Anil Doradla (William Blair & Co analyst), the company formerly known as RIM (Research in Motion) is planning on attracting business customers with more money to spend, rather than the ordinary consumers.
It’s already obvious that this QWERTY-ed device is getting more hyped up than the BB Z10 was, but will it really be more successful than its full-touch sibling? We’ll just have to wait and see, but in the meantime, let us know what you think about BlackBerry’s strategy in the comment section below.
